Integrable Protection for the PLENTICORE Inverter
Since the end of 2018, surge protection for solar power systems has been mandatory in Germany, as power surges can damage solar systems and their peripherals. System operators – both private and commercial – protect their photovoltaic system with surge protection.
The KOSTAL PLENTICORE G3 inverter features an integrable DC surge protection module. This ensures that the photovoltaic system is protected against DC-side surge damage.
Surge protection must already be installed at the house entry point. If the cable length from there to the device exceeds 10 meters, an additional protection device must be installed directly before or within the device. An integrable solution can help save on installation and material costs.
DC surges can be detected immediately and effectively dissipated. Surge protection is particularly useful for PV systems connected to a battery storage, heat pump, or other powerful consumers like an electric vehicle.
